North to Nunatsiavut: A Voyage to Newfoundland, Labrador and the Inuit Lands
This was a 4,000-mile round trip voyage from Massachusetts to the iceberg strewn coasts of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Inuit lands of Nunatsiavut in Atlantic Canada. The crew sails amongst icebergs, whales and multitudes of enchanting seabirds while sighting caribou and arctic fox. From the fishing outports of Newfoundland to Inuit communities far above the end of roads in North America, each day brings to heart the changes for Canadians whose cod fishery collapsed and the Inuit whose traditional ways are threatened by climate change. Pushing northward as the pack ice recedes in the spring, The crew experience the trials of high latitude sailing as their hours of daylight grow longer each day. By mid-summer the race is on to return home as hurricane season approaches.

Come hear the whole wild story and see this piece of ultimate ephemera for yourself. Join us for a Dark and Stormy evening with maritime-themed refreshments. Members of Lowell's Boat Shop and the Museum of Old Newbury are free, non-members are $10.
