Build (and possibly win!) a Peapod Dory with Graham McKay

Join our master boatbuilder, Graham McKay, for this week-long boatbuilding workshop at historic Lowell's Boat Shop. Open to people at all levels of experience, this class will cover basic lofting, layout, wood selection, hand and power tool use, planking, fastening, and more, with ample opportunities for hands-on practice with a small class size of 8 students of fewer.

All materials and tools will be provided, however, we encourage you to bring and use your own tools if you have them. Boatbuilding experience is not required, but familiarity with hand tools is necessary. The class will collectively build one Peapod Dory, which will be raffled off at the end of the class for the cost of materials.

Your Instructor
Graham McKay is the Executive Director and Master Boatbuilder at Lowell’s Boat Shop, the oldest continuously operating wooden boat building business in the United States. Graham has traveled throughout New England teaching and lecturing on the art and craft of wooden boat building.
